Concert Review:
David Cook w/ Zander Bleck
Keswisk Theater
Glenside, PA
12-4-11
We got to the venue around 3 o’clock, because I had VIP. If you hadn’t seen my post about that it’s on here somewhere.
I thought our seats were pretty decent. I think counting the first three ‘pit’ rows we were like 7th row to the right. Which isn’t bad at all.
Zander Bleck: I recall looking this guy up and hearing a song that was terrible, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he came out.
Point blank; He’s just too Pop for me. I wasn’t into his set at all and at times I wanted to shoot myself in the face. I won’t lie and I feel shitty trashing any musician, because playing music is something that takes a lot of strength, etc. But he’s just not for me, but maybe you will like him.
He did have one song that wasn’t too bad & his energy was pretty fun.
David: I was up out of my seat before David even came on. I was so excited as always.
The setlist was yet again perfect!
I wanted badly to hear ‘4 Letter Word’, because it was the only song (besides, This is Not the Last Time) that I hadn’t seen live off TLM. I was sure he wouldn’t play it, because he played it the night before in Clifton Park, but when it came on I started to jump up and down.
I also wanted to hear the ‘Rock & Roll’ cover, because I am totally in love with it. I was dying when it started. That song brought the real Rock.
David’s banter was fun and I loved how much he was letting Devin & Kyle show their skills.
I tell you Kyle will forever be my favorite drummer. People ask me why a lot, because he is a younger player and I always state the same thing. Go watch him drum. He throws his whole body into it. It’s something I can’t even explain. Pure fucking awesomeness.
‘Goodbye to the Girl’ was also played and I have to say it’s even better without a guitar. Flawless.
‘Fade Into Me’ was freaking intense. It was done acoustic and brought tears to my eyes. It seems like every show this song kills me.
I got my second ‘Rapid Eye Movement’ and words cannot describe that song live.
Overall, with the VIP experience it was one of my favorite shows.
