Concert Review: Burn Halo w/ Candlelight Red at Three Kings in Jermyn, PA 3-21-12 Gotta love loving a band that plays your area often. The guys hadn’t been back around since August ‘10 though, which kind of disappointed me after the break-up and all. But I have to say the wait was well worth it. I got to the venue around 3:30, which ended up being pretty early, but everything turned out well anyway. This was my first time being at the venue since it had changed over to a pizza place kind of thing, so around 5 we were able to go in and wait for James. I had contracted James a few weeks before about cutting my hair, and he seemed very happy to be doing it. It was a lot of fun, while he cut my hair I got to know the new guys. Chris & Sonny are seriously the cutest people ever. Okay. After that we stood in front of the stage and waited for the show to start. The turnout at the venue wasn’t great, but small shows are always the most special. Candlelight Red: Gotta say, I swear I’ve heard of this band somewhere and maybe heard a song or two, but I couldn’t place their material last night. They were actually pretty good live, except the lead singer’s mic was drowned out by the instruments. I was sad their set was cut short due to a guitar issue, I’d like to see them again. Burn Halo time! Every single time I see these guys they get better…. maybe this time it had to do with the new guys, I don’t know. But they were on freaking fire. They sounded fantastic. James vocals were clear and sharp, great stuff. And can we talk about the new drummer Sonny again? That kid is freaking killer on the drums. I know he’s a big Avenged Sevenfold fan, I could totally see some Jimmy in his playing. It reminded me so much of the first time I saw Arin play live. Amazingness, seriously. I was a little unpleased with the setlist. They played mostly new material, but what you gonna do? My favorite of the night had to be ‘Threw It All Away’. They were so in sync in playing though, it was great. (The photos above were taken after the show when we were just hanging. Gotta love the shitty lighting in that place.) 1 note
