Avalanche Tour w/ Art of Dying, Adeliats Way & Shinedown
Scranton Cultural Center, Scranton, PA
I got to the venue a little after 12. I wasn’t in too much of a hurry to lineup, because I basically knew the crowd in Scranton wouldn’t be lining up till around 1 or 2.
We got in line a little before 1, only two other people were in line. But by 3 o’clock the line was huge.
This was a shorter wait for me then usual, but the weather was horrible. Standing in rain and cold for a show is no good. If I don’t get sick no one ever will.
We got in to the venue a little after 6. I was kind of bummed out, because the VIP(s)/Early Entrance people were in front of us. I ended up making out okay though and had a nice spot between second/third row.
Art of Dying: It was about time I finally got to see this band live. I skipped them at Uproar last year and felt kind of guilty about it.
I actually really liked this band. They were a little bit of a pullback to classic rock & roll. They held a lot of energy too!
I only knew two of the six songs they played, but that didn’t matter I couldn’t help myself from dancing around.
I wouldn’t say I’m a “fan” of these guys now, but I’d actually like to see them live again.
Adelitas Way: I had been waiting to see this band live again since I first saw them and fell in love back in 2010.
I’ve gotta say over the last 2 years they got even freaking better live. I love these guys to death. I’m telling you, if you’ve never checked them out please do.
Their set kind of disappointed me a bit, but that’s just because I wish they had a little longer to play. They did a lot of new songs which I was excited about.
My favorite of the night had to be “Hurt”.
I would continue to give these guys compliments, but I think you get the point. One of my favorite bands, I tell you these guys are going places.
Shinedown: This was my second time seeing these guys live and let me tell you again they put on a fucking amazing show!
They not only put on a show that sounds great, they put on a show that is inspirational. They give so much thought for food during their shows, and I love that. It’s not only an awesome Rock show, it’s a learning experience.
And don’t even get me started on Brent’s voice. He never lost it once last night. Through all 16 songs his voice was at its best.
The set was surprisingly almost perfect. They covered basically all of their ground as going through all 4 albums.
My favorite of night had to be the staple “45”. Every time I hear that song live it brings me to tears.
Overall, what an amazing show. They never disappoint.
