Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival 2011 Review

August 27th, 201 ll Scranton, PA

I got in line right at 11 when the parking lot opened. I was about 12th or 15th in line along with my dad.

We got into the venue a little after one and I rushed to the second stage.
The first band to come on only played 4 song and they were called, Through the Flood. They weren’t too bad. I’m not big fan of screamo so of course I didn’t love them, but if you’re into that check them out.

Next up was Hell or Highwater; which was the reason I was there at the second stage in the first place. They played 5 songs and were great. My second time seeing them and I’ve got to say they got even better! (Check out my post about their CD signing.)

So around 2:30ish we got in line for the pit. It looked like the line was big, but it worked out fine so I guess it really wasn’t.

It started down pouring, because of this stupid hurricane a little before 4. I looked terrible by the time they started letting us in, but I didn’t care.
I got 2nd row and I was pleased.

First up on the main stage was Escape the Fate. I wasn’t of fan of theirs going into this and only knew one song of theirs so I had a good feeling I wasn’t going to like them live. They turned out however not being too bad. Their stage presence was energetic. I’m still not a huge fan, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them again.

Then it was time for Bullet for My Valentine. Another band I wasn’t a fan of going into this. I though they put on a pretty good live performance, but I’m still not a fan of they music. I did end up however with Paget’s guitar pick which is cool.

Next it was time for Seether. I was somewhat excited for them, because I knew a lot of their music so I figured at least I could sing along. They ended up playing all their hits which like I thought I knew most of; which it was awesome to finally be able to sing along. I though they were awesome. They really brought this whole new thing to the show and I liked whatever it was a lot. I would love to go see them put on a full show.

Then it was time for one of the two bands I was dying to see, Three Days Grace. This was my 5th time seeing them and I swear every freaking time they get better. With the short amount of time they got for a set they only played their hits, but I didn’t care. I sang my little heart out. I was just happy to be seeing them and to this day I still believed their one of the best live bands around.

Then finally it was Avenged Sevenfold time! I was literally dying when they came out. It was like weight lifted from my shoulders; nothing else in the world mattered.

The second song off the setlist was ‘Chapter Four’; which for me was amazing. It seemed as if I was the only one where I was standing that knew the words, but I didn’t care. I’m actually happy their switching the setlists up now, because I’ve always wanted to hear that song live.

I also got ‘Seize the Day’ & ‘M.I.A’ which was great. Both songs are huge favorites of mine and I was in love.

20 minutes into the set the lady in front of me left (her loss) and I got to stand front row. It was then that it hit me. Those boys truly are everything to me. It got to me how truly happy they always make me.

This was my 4th time seeing them and I’ve got to say this show was my favorite for one reason.

The boys were all smiles. Numerous times I saw Zack and Johnny laughing at each other. The same for Brain and Johnny; Matt was all smiles too. You could even see Arin smiling bigger then usual. Their smiles made me feel the best I have in months.

The new stage is unbelievably awesome too! I loved it.

Yet again, Avenged put on another solid and fun performance. Their another band that just keeps getting better every time I see them.

What a way to end the Summer.
